What Nook sends automatically
- Booking confirmation the moment a visit is booked.
- Reminders the day before (reply C to confirm) and two hours before.
- Missed-call text-back when a call goes unanswered.
- Review request an hour after a completed visit (or the "how was it?" ask if the intercept is on).
- Waitlist offers, birthday notes (marketing opt-in only) and payment links.
Edit the words
- Settings → Templates. Each message has a text version and, where it makes sense, an email version.
- Tap a template, edit the text, and use the chips to drop in things like the client's name, the time or the manage link. Required links are highlighted — the message doesn't work without them.
- The preview on the right shows sample output and how many text segments it'll use. Text me a test sends it to your phone.
- Save. Reset to the default any time; History shows every version.
Quiet hours
Automatic texts never go out during your quiet hours (Settings → Business, default 9 pm–8 am in your timezone); they wait until morning. Replies you type yourself in the Inbox go immediately.
STOP, START and HELP
If a client texts STOP, Nook stops all texts to them instantly — automated and staff-written — and notes it in their thread. START turns it back on. HELP gets an automatic reply identifying your shop. You don't have to do anything; this is required by US carriers and Nook handles it.
Marketing texts
Reminders and confirmations are transactional and go to everyone who books. Promotional texts (birthday notes, campaigns) only go to clients who ticked marketing opt-in when booking or in their profile. Keep it that way — it's the law, and it's why your texts land.
Why isn't a text delivering?
- The client texted STOP (their profile shows it).
- It's inside quiet hours — it'll go in the morning.
- The number is a landline that can't receive texts.
- Carrier registration is still in progress (see phone number).
